[fanfary] Tytyyyy, tytyyyy! [/fanfary] Here is another origin debut. First time before you Uganda! We are impressed by how quickly and qualitatively this part of Africa is developing coffee. At first glance, ultra-clean, fruity and elegant washed. If all washed coffees tasted like this, no one in the past would have thought of combining!

Heretical opinions

Peter: “As a fan of clean, washed coffees that can’t cheat, I ride this flight like butter. In the cup, elegance, a light, juicy body and plenty of nuance. These are the things that any fermentation nut can envy.”

Ola: “It’s sort of between washed Rwanda, washed Ethiopia, and washed Kenya. Sort of familiar, and yet a little different. Clean, floral, tea-like, well, what I like best.”

More geeky stuff

PRODUCER

Several hundred small producers supply cherries to the Bulambuli washing station. All of these mini-farms are heavily family-owned ventures. Very similar to Kenya. Another coincidence: here we have Kenya’s well-known SL varieties, in this case 14 and 28, coming from the high ground. Did we mention anything about the similarities with Kenya? The coffee you are reading about is grown on the border with this country, on the other side of Mount Elgon.

TREATMENT

A classic of the genre. The cherries are separated from the stone, fermented and then washed and spread for drying.
